Unifund CCR Partners - How To Rip-off Americans
I owed less that $10,00 on an credit card account I had. In 2005, I received notice that a judgment was made against me.
I got an attorney and got an agreement of a monthly payment of $250. I received no statements! Three 3 years later I had a family crisis and was not able to make monthly payments. After the second payment was missed, I got a call on the job from some "goon" asking me "When can I expect to receive the money?" I was so offended, I decided that I needed to take care of family first and pay when I could.
I later found that they place a lien against my properties (home, car) and send paperwork (signed by a judge) to garnish my salary with an added 11% interest on the balance which after 3 years of payments on an original debt of $10,000 is now over $14,000. I remain depressed and worried about myself and family's ability to withstand this stress.
I just feel like quitting everything. Why can't our government step in to help working families fight against this kind of rip-off and greed by Unifund CCR Partners?
Reason of review: Problems with payment.
Monetary Loss: $14000.

that same day when i got the money back they put a lien on my bank acc. that took another 6 mos. when the judge released the money in my checking acc to me, they went back a got another garnishment on my payroll.
this went on for 2 years, i couldn't take it any more so my husband and i filed bankruptcy and they could't go after us any more... freedom
