Unifund is trying to collect debt in Ohio that is out of the statute of limitations (if in ohio type in 1309.28 good description of this statute.) deny everything of reason when replying to their complaint(if they say your name is so and so and your name happens to be so and so admit that) but deny anything as far as if you had a credit card with said company (so on and so forth) make them validate the debt. Contract law requires a signed original contract.Answer everything from the courts get a lawyer or seek free legal counsel and most of all file a complaint with Ohio Attorney general Marc Dann and ask him why they are taking bids for state collections from these bottom feeders. Also make a complaint to the better bb.

I have this same problem. I can't really afford a lawyer, but I want to fight this debt. I'm not sure what I need to write in my letter, or how to proceed. I just received a complaint from the court today...what next? HELP!

I don't know what these Unifund CCR Partners are trying to collect from me....or why?

Are they fraudulent?

Do I need to pursue this?

Anyone have suggestions?

I am in the process of fighting them also. They stated in the legal papers sent to me a that I last paid June 14, 2004. I that is incorrect and a blatent lie. I would love to see what you did to get it thrown out and the letters you wrote. Thanking you in advance for your assistance and way to go!

We just beat unifund toady in court over a Zombie debt. We answered the original letter and lawsuit with letter, and went to court today to face them with"our day in..." They never showed. The Magistrate even gave them an additional 1/2 hour to show up, and they never came in... Fight them at every turn. If you want to ask any questions about the steps I took to get it thrown out, or the type of letter I wrote, please feel free to contact me:
