fraudulent amt turned over to unifund-i do not owe

I have received letters from Unifund, a collection agency and have sent many many letters and made numerous phone call to these people telling them I do not owe this amount to you (Providian) or any one else. In my last correspondence, I told them I would ignore any further correspondence. But that is hard to do when you are told you owe $8,162.94 and being threatened with court proceedings!
I have no idea if this is supposed to be a Master Card or Visa mainly because I do not owe this and am soooooo tired of getting these threats.
